Hi everyone,
I have no idea if anyone here has ever tried running TSM for VE on the TSM
server. To make it short, I was asked by a customer to move their vBackup
Storage that is now running on a separate physical server than TSM Server
(physical). I have tried to look at documentation but failed
Logically it will dedup at a storage pool level not across other storage
pools. I checked there's no further explanation on the Redbook but by
experience this would be at a storage pool only.

You can also change the nodename in dsm.opt (Windows) or dsm.sys (Unix).
Make sure you have the privillege to do so.

I agree with you Stef. I don't understand why this said product as part of
TSM but they don't really integrate with the current TSM we use. Anyone can
answer this? Hopefully for future development IBM can make this much
better.

I have problem on implementing TSM 5.4.0 in Linux RHEL 4 Kernel 2.6.9-67.
The Tape Device doesn't able to connect to TSM using the standard device
provided by this Operating System. We have looked for the match driver
provided by IBM, unfortunately we found only one that support the RHEL 4
IMHO,
It's just simply tell the Security guy on your company to redirect
request from TSM Server to your TSM Client which behind the firewall.
And if you backup through network, it means that you wouldn't need
Storage Agent for TSM.
