CentOS will not be supported by IBM.
I myself run TSM on CentOS just fine (TSM 7.1.6 on CentOS 7.5). The
lin_tape I don't know, but if you can get your hands on the sourcecode you
could compile it probably for CentOS.

I've got a working TSM 6.2.2.2 on a CentOS 5.5 (64-bit) VM running.
There were no problems installing/configuring it (though slow, because of
limited resources of the VM (only 3GB)).
I recommend that you give at least 8GB (12GB if running64-bit)) to the
CentOS box.

Yes we are running as local Administrator for the server.
We can map the share to a drive letter (we used K:) and we are then able
to create maps/folders and/or files on the share.

What kind of storage is the FILECLASS on and how is it connected to the
server (SCSI, SAS, FC)? I also know a case where latency might be an
