TSM 5.5 and 6.1 EOS

2013-04-29 Thread tuncel.mu...@akbank.com
Hi, Finally I noticed that EOS date has been anounced for TSM 5.5 (distributed platforms only, not z/OS). Please note that TSM 6.1 also is EOS on the same date, so it is not a good target upgrade version. http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21635108 Regards, Tuncel Değerli

said, I had folks that installed both 6.3 and 6.4 clients on W2K3 and W2K8 servers and backed up to a 5.5 server, with no problems we are aware of. Yes, it isn't a supported configuration but if you don't have a choice, what do you do? On Tue, Mar 26, 2013 at 10:31 AM, tuncel.mu...@akbank.com

Hi, I just wanted to confirm two things: 1. Windows 2012 is supported from client 6.3.1, which is supported from server 6.1 (but no 5.5 server), correct ? 2. TSM 5.5 Extended edition EOS I coulnt't see on the EOS page, but on the pages where I took the above info I saw EOS 30 September 2013

Thanks a lot for the tip Wanda and Paul. Now as I have TSM server 5.5.2.0, will the client 6.2.1 work with it ? For file backups TSM rule of working with Releases +-1 gives us that 5.5.2.0 server should work with the next Release, which is 6.0 (is there actually 6.0 ?) or 6.1, but not 6.2.

TSM server network problem
