Think of it this way Paul. (and please excuse me if I pitch this at too low a level) You are trying to create an offsite point of consistency every day. So, you run your backups overnight, then copy the data to your copypool. At this point you should create a DB backup - I prefer to use the

No I do not have collocation turned on for that storage pool. Offsite tapes are coming back when they are defined as empty after the reclaimation and expiration processes have done their work. However as part of the reclaimation process on that storage pool it is using tapes onsite that are in

Each weekday morning we run the following command backup stg BKPLTO4POOL COPYPOOL_LTO3 to backup the data that has been backed up overnight onto LTO3 tapes and then checkout these LTO3 tapes and send them offsite. I have a reclaimation process running on a daily basis for the COPYPOOL_LTO3

Assure that you aren't collocating on the offsite copy pool tapes, and that partially filled tapes are not going offsite - that will certainly eat scratches fast. Obviously, offsite tapes need to come back to provide a replenishing tape supply. Be careful about checking in offsite tapes, as
