modify what you need for 3494.
Good luck

I am in the process of setting up a second TSM server on the same
machine. I was curious if there are others doing that with a 3494
ATL. From what I can tell you can share the 3494 atl resources between
the two servers, meaning the tapes and the drives by specifying a
primarylibrarymanager.

Two ways to set this up:
1. Two separate TSM server sharing the library: use different categories and
be careful.
2. Have one of the servers act as the library manager. The second asks the
first for resources and tape mounts, etc. The first server knows

We will be looking at running multiple TSM instances, probably on one
box, later this year. Our server has plenty of horsepower and
bandwidth . . . the only reason we may need to do this is database
size.
The more I ponder this the madder I'm getting! Why should I have to
purchase another

Well, you're right. Server consolidation is a good thing.
But I usually (for simplicity) try to have one machine with one TSM

Hi
But memory utilization , network utilization and CPU utilization and memory
leaks will be high.
Am I right.

Hi all,
Why would one put multiple TSM servers on a single machine?
What are the advantages and disadvantages? What are the
scenarios?
History:
We have one AIX system with one TSM server with two libararies attached.
