Re: Azure support for cloud-based storage pools?

2016-10-07 Thread Del Hoobler
Hi Rick,

The Spectrum Protect server and clients are already supported running in
Azure. Check this out:

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21239546#Microsoft%20Azure

As for using BLOB storage, you would need a gateway today... but we
understand the need for native attachment to BLOB.

Contact your IBM rep or BP to get enrolled in the EAP/beta program.

2016-10-05 Thread Rick Adamson
Del,
How about Azure hosting the TSM server and using blob storage for backup data ?
We have presence there and would really like to get away from MS DPM.
I also would be really interested in participating

Thanks

Hi Steve,

You are correct that it isn't currently supported. It is on the futures list,
yes.

If you are interested in this integration and plan to start sending backup data
to Azure BLOB storage, please join the Spectrum Protect EAP/beta program. We
would like to have some deeper level discussions with you around the
requirements.
