Canada/Aceh Local Government Assistance Program (CALGAP)
____________________________________________________

VACANT POSITIONS
The Canada/Aceh Local Government Assistance Program is an initiative
of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) supported by the
Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and currently
extending until March 31 2009.
CALGAP's goal is to support national post-tsunami rehabilitation and
reconstruction efforts in Aceh and to create an enabling environment
for peace building by increasing local government capacities and
through the promotion of good intergovernmental relations. CALGAP's
purpose is to improve local governance (operations management,
service delivery and strengthened participatory mechanisms) in three
local governments - the City of Banda Aceh and the Districts of
Pidie and Aceh Jaya - that were affected by the tsunami in Aceh
through technical assistance provided by Canadian municipal
practitioners. In addition CALGAP will also partner with the
Province of Aceh and local government associations to provide
appropriate technical assistance in priority areas to be jointly
determined by the parties.
CALGAP is now recruiting additional Indonesian personnel for its
Program Office in Banda Aceh and the field office in Pidie (Sigli)
District of Aceh Province.
