AI-GEOSTATS: Walker Lake data set in the resources of AI-GEOSTATS

2003-03-07 Thread Gregoire Dubois
Dear all, I have put the exhaustive Walker Lake data set in the resources of AI-GEOSTATS. So far there was only the test set used by Isaak and Srivastava in their book Applied geostatistics http://www.ai-geostats.org/resources/spatial_data.htm#Geostats Best regards, Gregoire -- * To post a

AI-GEOSTATS: digital contour map

2003-03-07 Thread Ercan Yesilirmak
Dear list members As far as I know, contour maps produced by geostatistical softwares are as ficture in gif, bmp, jpg etc. format. Is there any geostatistical software which produces contour map in digital format, which enable us to overlap it as a layer over another map? Reagrds Ercan

Surfer does. Create the contour plot and export it as a DXF. Surfer 8 also includes an option for export as 3D DXF which would allow the contour plot to be visualised as a 3D model in some software. Martin __ ArchaeoPhysica Ltd. Reconnaissance Geophysics for

AI-GEOSTATS:GSLIB question

2003-03-07 Thread Dave Rennie
Hi All: Is anyone out there aware of a problem that may exit with GSLIB'S gamv when generating semi-variograms in the vertical direction? I've noticed that the results kicked out by gamv vary dramatically depending on what azimuth you use. Theoretically all variograms oriented vertically

Hi Dave, I have experienced similar problems. You are right that the computation of vertical semivariograms shouldn't be affected by azimuth in the horizontal dimension. If I remember well, you must make sure to specify non-zero bandwiths and angular tolerances. Let me know if it helps. Regards,

You can create a grids in any geostatistical software and import to surfer 7 or 8. then you can create a contour and export it using the option map/contour/export contour it export a 3d DXF file. In the same Surfer you can overlay any maps. Other possibility is to use a GIS program,
