I have to map the bottom types of a coastal area with high spatial
heterogeneity. We have geo-referred ecosound tracks with data on
bottom/community types: rocky, sandy, rocky with macroalgae, etc.

For a quick and dirty you might try an indicator kriging run for each bottom
type. (eg rocky = 1 , not rocky= 0; sandy=1 , not sandy = 0; .) if
indicator variograms of each type are similar you could use an average
