Well, it looks like I've managed to get alsa to cross compile properly
for my ARM based TS7200 board. I can play audio, but it's somewhat
erratic. The aplay command generates some random errors:
aplay: pcm_write:1088: write error: Input/output error
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:root# aplay -c 1 -t raw
Here's another odd message ...
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:root# aplay tibetan.snd

Hi folks,
I'm trying to compile ALSA for an ARM based processor on this board:

I have a cross compiler set up which I've already successfully used to
recompile a Debian based kernel for this card. But something is going
wrong with my compile

I've been using --prefix=/ and --exec-prefix=/ for configures.

Hi folks,
I've been using my HDSP with reasonable successs, but just monitoring 8
chan output through the headphones. Now I've got it connected to my
Spirit 328 digital mixer and am having troubles. Basically, there
doesn't seem to be any kind of sync.
Initially, when I just had the ADAT
Ok, I can get the device to sync by setting the Clock Source to
AutoSync, but then I get all sorts of errors writing to the audio
device. It seems as though setting the device to sync as a slave breaks
all the OSS emulation.
EG.,

Thanks for the input regarding the alsa-tools for hdsploader, etc...
Unfortunately, the tools won't compile. Initially, the configure script
complained about missing fltk-config. So I downloaded from
http://www.fltk.org/ and installed, ran ldconfig, etc...
Hey John,
You da man! Compiling fltk with --enable-shared did the trick. Gotta
love that.

I can send multichannel audio to my HDSP with RTcmix (using OSS
emulation). But:
1. I need to set the audio buffers pretty small (eg., 2048)
2. I get clicks when I switch terminal windows / desktops, etc...
- my machine is a 3.2ghz PIV w/ 1gig of RAM
Even more disturbing, I get the
Hi folks,
Had my first stab at getting an HDSP + Multiface up and running today.
No dice. Here's what I did:
1. Downloaded the latest ALSA sources, libs and utils (1.0.4)
2. Followed the instructions for the HDSP card off the alsa site,
configuring and installing as necessary
3. Created
Hi folks,
Testing out ALSA on a new laptop (Sager NP5680 ... same as Eurocom D500P
and HyperSonic GX6). As far I as know it has an Intel ICH5 AC97 sold by
Realtek? It has a mic in, stereo out, and 5.1 digital output. I can't
seem to figure out which lowlevel ALSA driver to use? Nor can I
