Hi. I've installed kernel 2.6.0-test9, because the alsa drivers are compiled into the kernel.
in /var/log/kern.log I find: Nov 10 16:40:04 Reigersnest kernel: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Ver sion 0.9.7 (Thu Sep 25 19:16:36 2003 UTC). Nov 10 16:40:04 Reigersnest kernel: PCI: Found IRQ 10 for device 0000:00:09.0 Nov 10 16:40:04 Reigersnest kernel: ALSA device list: Nov 10 16:40:04 Reigersnest kernel: #0: Avance Logic ALS4000 at 0x2000, irq 10 which I read to mean that my ALS4000 card is installed correctly. I've subsequently changed the permissions for /dev/mixer, /dev/sequencer and /dev/dsp to 666. My user account is added to group audio. However, still I get no sound, and my mixer (kmix) detects no soundcard. What did I do wrong? Under kernel 2.4.22 the alsa drivers 0.9.8 work perfectly, so it's not the hardware, nor the drivers. Thanks for any help, Folkert. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by: ApacheCon 2003, 16-19 November in Las Vegas.
