uname -r returns 4.4.0.-53-generic on both the working system (SD4 Serena) and the non-working system (SDA2 Sylvia), so I don't see how changing the kernel will help. lshw on (SDA2 Sylvia - no sound) has this to say about sound: *-multimedia *UNCLAIMED* description: Audio
