Mirzan Mahathir adalah Pengerusi Transmile Group
Berhad.
Setelah Dr Mahathir tidak berkuasa sebagai PM, Pos
Malaysia Berhad did not renew its contract with
Transmile, which has been carrying cargo for the group
since 1993.
Ini adalah satu lagi sebab Dr Mahathir terlalu marah
kepada Dollah Badawi.

Pos Malaysia may sell stake in Transmile if price is
right By Yeow Pooi Ling

KUALA LUMPUR: Pos Malaysia & Services Holdings Bhd
(PSH) may consider selling its stakes in Transmile
Group Bhd if the price is right, said chairman Tan Sri
Adam Kadir.

“The shares are still with us. We cannot stop others
from approaching us to offer to buy the shares,” he
told reporters after the company AGM yesterday.

He declined to comment on a news report that
speculated DHL could be a prospective buyer.

“Everybody is a potential. How much do you want to pay
for my beautiful daughter's hand?” Adam said.

PSH and wholly-owned unit Pos Malaysia Bhd (PMB)
bought Transmile shares in 2004 for RM253mil.

Based on Transmile's closing price of RM12.40
yesterday, the companies' interest in the air-cargo
company could be worth some RM502mil.

PMB did not renew its contract with Transmile, which
has been carrying cargo for the group since 1993.
After the contract expired this year, it was open for
tender and won by a smaller air cargo player, Gading
Sari Aviation Services Sdn Bhd.

PSH group managing director and chief executive
officer Datuk Ikmal Hijaz Hashim said 13 companies
vied for the contract and the decision was based on
technical and financial terms.

Furthermore, there was an option for PSH to turn
Gading Sari into an associate if the company provided
potential upside, he said, but declined to give a
timeframe to exercise the option.

Despite Gading Sari owning only two planes, Ikmal said
the capacity of 15 tonnes per plane was sufficient.
“If the volume is good, we will look at enlarging
capacity,” he said.

Transmile forms regional links
by S. C. Chan

Malaysia's fire box hauliers as well as forwarders and
shippers will link to an EDI system.
Transmile, the Malaysian air cargo service provider,
is linking up with one of the region's fastest-growing
air, sea and logistics groups, Konsortium Perkapalan
Berhad (KPB), to provide an integrated logistics
service for the Asia-Pacific region.

Transmile as a logical partner due to its expertise
and knowledge of the air cargo industry and plans to
expand services within the region, KPB executive
chairman, Mirzan Mahathir, said. Mirzan is also
chairman of Transmile Group Berhad.
