I am trying to find out the formula of the primary zero indicator, which seems
to pinpoint reversal in intraday with terrific accuracy. I have no idea if this
indicator is proprietary or not as there is no way to email the blog owner:

Hello,
Struggling with something probably simple to set up, but I failed so far: I use
to plot the daily pivots (R1...R4, and S1..S4) on my intraday 5' charts and
have the problem that the chart will scale on those pivots lines, which are
sometimes very far from the recent intraday history,
I didn't get any answer from the group and the support couldn't resolve the
issue (they said it was IB problem): anyone else trading this symbol and having
the same problem: all history prices are divided by 100 except the last
bar...so impossible to chart this..?
Thanks,
Carl
I have been charting this symbol without problem for months (ZM9-LIFFE-FUT-GBP)
from IB, but now for some days instead of having the realr price charted, I
have only a hundredth of the price. As I write this I for example have a price
of 44.045 instead of 4404.5 !!
I have deleted and
Hi,
I think that with AFL it should be possible to chart a weekly bar with the
possibility to choose the start/end of the bar, unlike most of the charting
package that oblige the user to use Friday as the end of the weekly period.
This is ridiculous especially when the week is only 4 days
I am considering switching from excel to AB Account manager to log all my
trades. I knew of the existence of account manager of course but never used it
so far.
Now I am at a loss: when you use account manager, is there any way to chart the
equity line?? I haven't found this to be possible.
Sorry if this topic was already addressed or is in the help files but I
couldn't find it. My question: how to code the plot of a vertical line in a AFL
formula ??
Thank you for any help!
Carl
I couldn't find where it was but am sure this was already addressed:
how to code/backtest an entry signal in such a way that the entry is done on
the current bar, and NOT the next bar?
Also, how to code an exit at close on this same current bar??
Actually, I want to test an idea developed in SC
I would like to download EOD continuous futures contracts for the major
commodities. Can anyone tell me if there is a free/ or paying internet
site available for doing so with Amiquote (like Yahoo for stocks) ?

Thank you for any advice here,

I know this might be judged as off topic, but I also know this is a
general concern across all active traders nowadays: I am based in
Europe and have a brokerage account at IB. I have no concern about IB
reliability but they are only a broker. And my concern is the banks

Any idea why it is impossible to get volume information from IB
interface; there IS however volume information delivered in TWS (bid
size, ask size). With other interface like metaserver (no ad here)
it is possible to retrieve this information in the quotes downloaded,
but not in AB - I was
When viewing an exploration results you have the choice of sorting by
clicking on a column ('ticker name, signal, date/time).
When I choose date/time, whether it is ascending or descending, the
sort-order is always set on the date first, then the symbol, then the
time. Why not Data/time/

I don't think this topic was addressed already; if it was, I apologize.
In version 5.20 rc1 there seems to be a limitation to 9 windows names
that are displayed under Menu = Window, even when there are more
windows actually opened in the workspace.
Is that normal or am I missing something?
Today I had AB showing this strange behaviour and I am unable to
explain it:
When I change a parameter of, say, RSI in one chart and I click on the
RSI area of another chart open in the same layout, the value of this
RSI will change also to the same value as the other chart!!
Could that be a

Thomasz,
Thank you for providing this useful code in TASC. It works well but
however I had a question: in using the indicator on intraday charts (1
minute) I noticed that when you enter a date in the pameter it is
actually taking the date - 1. Example: if I enter Oct 8, 2008, 18:26:00
it will
I noticed a strange thing: for some days already I was surprised to see
gaps in my data for the day before while I was pretty sure that the day
before all data were recorded, tick after tick for the 20 symbols I am
following from IB. I know it is not really tick-by-tick but rather

Hi,
I am still a newbie switching from easylanguage to AFL and am trying
to plot double bottoms that are separated only by a few bars.
Something must be wrong with my coding below because no signal is
generated despite I can see those patterns on the charts.
Basically the idea is: Price tries

Hi, I have been looking for days on how to do this and was wondering if

I tried to do this several times but no arrow on the chart!
