Yes Paul,
I am tired of collecting marginal HT radios that really do not do well as
full-duplex units.
Hoping for some reports soon!

!
On the next pass I worked AA5PK, K4FEG, W5AOO and WB0KFC.
It will be a long time before our next HAMSAT QSO Dom...
Until then, we will do what we can with what we have!

From what I have found, it ( BAOJIE BJ-UV55 Dual Band 136-174/400-470MHZ
Transceiver) is not full duplex.
I really like my TH-D72A, but it is a LOT more $$.
I hope to make some Q's via the Hamsats in early September off the coast of
AK with it.

W5MSQ (MoSQrpitos - Houston QRP Club) had six VO-52 contacts during Field
Day. Doppler was an issue plus our QRP ops, but no odd occurances. AO-07 was
better for us with 13 contacts. We were ready for Mode A on AO-07, but it
did not happen. No problems!

Nothing new...
We continue to check aprs.fi for any packets from kt5tk-11, but have
received none...
However, we have uploaded new pix and vids of the launch campaign.
Here's hoping!

Notice that I did the intro Welcome Newcomers page for this issue. It was
great fun to get articles from serious satellite chasers around the world,
and have them published in 73. I did the HAMSATS column for 16 years as a
form of AMSAT advertising. The credentials of the satellite-article

Everything worked right this year for the Houston MosQRPitos, operating as
W5MSQ near Brookshire, Texas. We were set up for all possible satellite
configurations including Mode S down via AO-51, but I slept through both
passes! However, it was great to find AO-7 and FO-29 in good shape and
There are apparently some mods available to modify the xmit audio. I haven't
tried them yet, but I found the 2M/70cm HT very sensitive on AO-51 reception
with only the standard whip antenna. I hope to do some experiments with one
of these non-full-duplex HTs as a RCVR and another as a XMTR -
Although the manual has plenty of claims about FCC acceptance, I consider
these things to be experiments, i.e. it's up to me to ensure that they
comply with the specifications for an amateur-radio transceiver. In 1992
when I cut the red and blue wires in my Alinco DJ-580T HT 30 minutes after I

While Hyperterminal shipped with Windows XP, it however did not ship with
Windows Vista (Boo Microsoft, Boo!).
David, and other AO-7 watchers,
I was hoping for Mode B or Mode A, but we got Mode D (435.1 MHz beacon
only).
Yes, I guess it just cycled into the 70-cm beacon mode for the last pass of
SKN 2010!
At least it was a nice strong carrier, and I got in some SKN QSOs via AO-51
just a bit earlier.
Hah!
I should have tuned aroung 10M more carefully, instead of just listening to
the Doppler shift on 70cm!

For the 1614Z pass, I made it a point to stay centered in the uplink, i.e. a
few kHz of appropriate Doppler correction on 2M as SO-67 went by. This
helped also.
