Thanks Bill,
good luck and have a great FD on the sats. If I get my station up, we will

Thanks Emanuele,
The last part of your message is actually the most important part. Watching
the ISS astronauts talking to schools and having a video feed is great.
However, looking at schedules and available downlinks for NA and or Europe,
they are limited and might not really much worth of an
Hi Les and all,
I would not jump into any kind of advanced purchase or antenna assembly etc
on the ISS TV program at this point.
1. It will take considerable time to get the equipment up, installed,
tested, verified etc.
2. If the primary use is for ISS school contacts, you are limited to
balls, just
waiting, waiting waiting.

Hi Les
Nice!
Has anyone figured out any ground station requirements? Antenna gain,
polarization, receiving equipment etc...

Thanks Bob,
That's why it is important to read the complete conversation.
This is NOT about Cubesats, staying in orbit, etc. It is about getting into
an HEO beyond 2km.

I always thought that to get to a suitable HEO you need to start at a
suitable GTO and not LEO.
I guess they forgot to mention that at the conference? So it doesn't matter
what the propulsion is unless you start at the right orbit it is not of
much use. Getting to GTO is the money issue. No free
for cross continental communication.

Dear James,
thanks for the survey. A few observations on the survey:
Most amateur radio operators are not Institutions unless you want only
universities to respond. Needs to be clarified. Secondly asking for Lat and
Lon is fine if you provide the format. Grid square is much more convenient
