One "complaint" about the documentation...the section on SUB reports,
IMHO, is...difficult?
For instance, how do I shut it off?
As an example, I want to know what .php3 files (or cgi's) were hit, but I
don't care about the args passed to them...
Thanks...

You just have to set the REQARGSFLOOR higher -- or if you prefer, use
ARGSEXCLUDE to stop them being read in in the first place.

Any idea?

I'm sorry, I wasn't following this thread closely enough, because I thought it
was being handled by other people.
There is no problem with defining that long string to be a %r. But I'm not
sure it is really a %r -- isn't it a %q ?
If you were to define it as a %q though, you would have to do
Hi all
would you please excuse my english.
I'm from germany.
My problem by using analog is the MS-Proxy-file format.
It looks like that: (it's one line and 22 fields)

Thanks, Stephen. I guess my question was, is it pointless to keep trying.
And you indicate not. I've never had success, so I don't know the pros and
cons of treating this as a query or a file. I want the *information* within
the query to show up in the log analysis. If I could get *any*

Hi,
I compiled Analog for Linux - no apparent problems. I installed it in
/usr/home/analog/..
However, when I try to run it, I get the message:

You have to set the locations of these directories in analhead.h before
compiling.

Oh, a big *hug* to you, Stephen! Thanks so much. Tweaking follows, yes,
but I've got something to work with! Hooray! (This has been many many
weeks of frustration.)

Hi
I'm new to this list, but I've been using various versions of analog for
over three years. Because this file:
194.176.194.244 - - [02/Mar/1999:16:03:54 +] "GET /bentley/index.html
HTTP/1.0" 304 0
represents a new "gateway" into someone's site, I really need it to appear
in the request
By the way, the reason for needing %aM not just %a is that some servers just
put a or p, not am or pm. I will make an explicit note about this in the
documentation though.

Hi,
How do you deal with quotation marks in the referer field?? Analog is,
for obvious reasons, junking any lines which do have quotation marks
in the referer's query string.
Any ideas??

Well, 304's count as successful requests, so it should get into the Request
Report. What can I think of? First, it will appear as /bentley/ not as
/bentley/index.html. Secondly, if you're sorting (or FLOORing) the Request
Report by bytes, you could have trouble, because this one will score 0.
