I got a notice last week that my much liked free app had been made unavailable to users in Sweden because Google got a notice of trademark infringement.
My app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kantaris.playse&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5rYW50YXJpcy5wbGF5c2UiXQ.. has 93 reviews with an average of 4.6 stars SVT, The company that sent in the trademark complaint, has two apps: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=se.svt.svti.android.svtplayer&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsInNlLnN2dC5zdnRpLmFuZHJvaWQuc3Z0cGxheWVyIl0. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=air.se.svt.svti.android.svtplayer&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImFpci5zZS5zdnQuc3Z0aS5hbmRyb2lkLnN2dHBsYXllciJd Both there apps has an average of 1.9 stars All 3 apps do the same thing, only difference is that mine works better. *I use no logos or images that belong to SVT and the name is different so I don't see how my app can be a trademark infringement.* I have desperately tried to contact SVT to find out what the complaint is actually based on but with no success. Swedish phone magazine mobil.se wrote an article about the removal where they also interview Gunnar Slott at SVT. He said that my app was removed because it contains the logo of SVT Play which is untrue. Only time the logo is shown is when the app shows the official SVT Play website. The logo is not in my app. See http://www.mobil.se/play-se-bortagen-fran-google-play-butiken-1.514992.html *Last week I sent an appeal to Google but have yet to get a response.
