Updated notes: Spoke with the Tech Lead and one of the individuals who will be interviewing. There are 4 open positons. They are looking for an AWS developer - not a ops person but someone that can actually do development - S3, EC2 etc. This team is migrating Java apps to AWS cloud. They would also like someone to have the Java core concept background. If they can do the Java development all the better. To summarize they will consider AWS developers that are very capable in AWS concepts and skills with little Java OR Java Developers (backend) with AWS experience - even if it is minimal. We are having a follow up conversation regarding these roles with the Tech Lead/Manager. It seems we are struggling to find AWS developers. We are finding build/release type of folks that have turned into AWS engineers.
