Immediate technical phone screen. If that goes well, the person would need
to come in for an in-person interview.

3.      SQL scripting (inner and outer joins, finding duplicates, etc.) 
4.      JIRA
5.      Agile environment (user stories, scrums)
6.      Outstanding communication skills (both oral and written)

 

Senior BA/DA with some Project Management Skills

REQUIRED:

Strong Business Data Analyst who can take ownership and run with projects
with very little oversight.

(Can' be just a Business Analyst OR Systems Analyst, MUST have experience
with both: have experience talking to the business customer as well as the
technical teams and doing some Project Management.

You will be the person driving the project to completion. You will be the
person responsible for figuring out what needs to get done and then getting
that set up. You will be setting up and running JAD sessions over the phone
with 9-10 people in different locations. You must have excellent
communication skills (both oral and written) as you will be speaking to both
the customers and the technical team over the phone and in person.

You will be sitting in a Group Team Room with the Developers and Testers You
will be the person that makes sure that technology really understands what
the customer wants and then to ensure that technology is giving the customer
what it has asked for. You will need to know what Java is and what it does
to be able to converse with the technology team.

Gather and write business requirements, translate those into technical
requirements that go into user stories. Talk to the technical team and
explain to technical team members in NY and MD what the customer wants. You
Must have worked with Agile /scrum process. Must have BOTH business and data
analysis experience as this group deals with a very large database
(terabytes).

In addition to writing the business requirements, you will be writing the
technical specifications (ETL- how the data will be stored). You will be
Feeding the backlog to the technical team so it is critical that you make
sure that the requirements are clear, concise, measurable, testable, etc.
BEFORE they go to development team.

You Must understand business process flows and be able to diagram those out.

Strong SQL skills are needed; you must be able to extract and manipulate
data with SQL.

You Must be able to write sequence diagrams.

You Must be comfortable working with Swim lanes - who does what and how.

 

PREFERRED:
Understanding of the cloud (AWS) is preferred as this project will be moving
to the cloud in 2017.
Understanding of how things work on Hive.
Some experience with JIRA is preferred as that is how they store their user
stories.
