Yeah, if you are already entrenched with over a year's worth of downloads you are good. But if you want to develop a new app don't even bother if that search term has tons of free apps because your entry will be way deep where you will never get any exposure. The problem is you can't search for

Having a year's worth of downloads doesn't save you. My app, Custom Launcher Icons used to come up pretty high for every relevant search phrase. Since July 1, I'm buried under lots of very similar apps with lower/fewer ratings, less downloads and less relevancy than my own. I'm ok with
