Hello,
I'm doing my companu dedicated to Android! French industries start to
be interesting by Android and there is a business to do.
I would like to know:
- does Google prepare an Android certification?
- how is it possible to be referenced at Google as Android company for
french market?
there' s also the problem, that whenever you update an app, you lose
all comments and ratings and download counters from before.

I do frequent updates, but that is really only because I learn from
end users about new unforeseen issues. These are often issues that are
specific to the G1 versus the Android emulator, while I have no G1 to
test on. So I do a best effort to get things fixed properly and
quickly, but can only

This IS NOT a tmobile-policy. My previous phone was a Dash , and I used the
phone as a modem all the time.
It's clear that someone will develop a application for the g1, but I'm
really surprised that the phone was released without this application being
available.
I really was suprised to see
grahamz over on Androidfurums has already done a proxy version of

His is the first I've heard of. Personally, I have not even tried
anything like that yet but here is a link to grahamz's posts (and

I like the EFF(1). I think that their efforts to protect the liberty
of the Internet are part of the reason that it is possible for Google,
the Android partnership, and us to collaborate and create this new
handheld software ecosystem. Similarly, I believe there are those who

From what I can tell, there aren't any of the usual partner programs
a la MS or Oracle. So there are no training or certification programs,
marketing or anything that rides on the coattails of the technology.
And no leveraging of Google's brand for your own benefit. They buy
companies on occasion
Is the Android Market statistics (download counts, active installs)
still working? I know that the counts showing in the Developer Console
are lost with every APK update that you submit, but as of today the
counts stay at zero. Either the statistics are (temporarily) no longer
Sweet. I knew it was just a matter of time before someone developed a
application that would allow users to take full advantage of the data

Yeah, the distinction is not trivial; it's crucial. Android, as
developed by Google, is completely free and open. The G1 that HTC and
T-Mobile collaborated on may not be, but the next Android device (for
example, by OpenMoko or Asus) may be. Get mad at HTC or T-Mobile, not
Google. And please,

The stats are still showing. Haven't updated any new mobeegal release since

Hello Advocates,
I have a short question whether I am affected by the MapsAPI-ToS only

One possible good candidate to try Android on is the OpenMoko phone called
FreeRunner: http://openmoko.com/
G1 is to FreeRunner as Android is to OpenMoko. It will take some work, no
doubt, but the FreeRunner hardware is completely Open. The G1 does have
some nicer features, but the Freerunner is
