Not to beat a dead horse, but the signal word for the copper soap fungicide
is Caution.
Presumably the soap chemistry helps this less toxic product to be
effective, but there are only two university trials on it that I can find
(both vs grape powdery mildew, against which it was effective).
I almost always get a dropped face look when, at a
farmers market, I tell a customer that the pesticide I
am forced to use on his apples in order to maintain my
organic certification is more toxic than the
chemical alternative.
I am able to convince my small part of the buying
public of the lies
That a way Jim!

We just had a state senator
Interesting that Champ WG has a 'Danger' signal word. Sounds real
'organic,' huh?

We just had a state senator that wanted to stop calling a product IPM
raised if you used any products that had Danger or Warning signal word on the
label. When I pointed out to him that a number of approved organic products
(most coppers, lime sulfur and pyrethrums) fell into that trap,
Champ WG is on the OMRI list. Use instructions for anthracnose and
European canker say Apply before fall rains., with no other
restriction. I'm not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV, but that seems
to leave a wide window for interpreting applications made in summer as
being within label allowance
Dave Champ WG copper is labeled under OMRI-they list the following:Champ WGClassification: Crop Pest, Weed, and Disease ControlCategory: Coppers – fixedRestriction: May be used for plant disease control if the requirements of 205.206(e) are met, which requires the use of preventative,
