The computer we had been using for Ariel broke down, so we are trying to use a
new computer with the software. The old computer ran Ariel 3.3, even though we
had purchased the 4.1.1 upgrade a year ago.

I installed 4.1.1 on the new computer (after first learning I needed to install
3.3 first since our 4.1.1 was an upgrade). The software installed and appeared
to work, but it would not send or receive.

Our network firewall has been thoroughly tested according to the instructions
online, and our network people assure me that the firewall is open as it should
be.

However, Ariel still would not work.

So I uninstalled it and went back to version 3.3 (with a completely new install
of the software).

But it still does not work--it will not send even a test transmission.

The new machine runs WindowsXP, so it is not a Vista issue.

Does anyone have any advice on what can I do to fix this? I do not want to
have to give up on Ariel, even though we have Odyssey now as well.

Thanks in advance,
