I have a ton of Nortel MICS/CICS phone systems and am looking for an easy way
to integrate them.
Two questions arise:
1.Is it feasible to use asterisk as a Man in the Middle for a T1 PRI
system? The idea is to intercept outbound calls from the Nortel PBX and
redirect them via VoIP
If I were to terminate 2-3 800 numbers on an asterisk box, is there a
mechanism to determine which was the source of a call?

Using a real world example, lets assume you want to add 12 extensions and 12
phone lines that process through the asterisk box. I use those numbers
because they add up to 24 which is the number of channels a single T1 is
capable of signaling. Your hardline PBX would then wire into a channel bank
, any way to move to the next unheard message when you delete(effectively
having no undelete option)? I have users complaining about this compared to
both their existing voicemail and their cell phone voicemail doing it the
aforementioned way.

I have a 6200-8 router, it's a T1 router with 8POTS ports online and has a
multitude of options for a voice gateway, anyone on the list here know which
would be most compatible(if not simply work) with asterisk?
Can asterisk serve as an MGCP gateway, or is there another linux solution that
