Just in case anyone else is looking for this information, I'm posting the answer here. I do need to double check if this works with asterisk >= 0.9.0. I've heard rumors that IAX1 support has been removed in newer versions.

Then set the registrations you want for IAX2 in the iax.conf file and registrations you want for IAX1 in the iax1.conf file.
