yes, a regular ftp server will do it fine,
I have another issue with a Poly300 but not ftp,
bear in mind that when you set up the Polycom user, -PlcmIp (or
something like that)
you have to use the --force-badname option to allow your server a
username with capital letters,
since that is case
As others have already stated, be careful with assumptions using
tftp. You'll chase your tail off trying to figure out why certain
things don't work as expected. Very strongly suggest ftp instead. :)
Hi, all
Stupid me! Under RH (FC3) tftp server is part of xinet. So,
AAH 1.3, Digium 4-port FXO card connected to PSTN
I am having problems with outbound calls, where the call goes to either an
error message from the PSTN, or a fax number, or a wrong number. It works
correctly maybe 1 time in 10.
Also, outbound calls *sometimes* work if they are numbers

I have Polycom IP600s and just bought some 500s. I had a Zultys 4x5but
got rid of it. You need to be aware that Zulyts provides no end user
support whatsoever. They send you to the reseller, many of which don't
know enough to be helpful. I had hoped to make the FXO port on the 4x5

Polycom and Cisco are also blind to customer support. Neither will sell to
us through normal distribution unless we become certified in their phone
systems. The rules for certification are very restrictive and in the stone
age. They do not want to support asterisk. They only want to support

The only area where the Zultys 4x4/4x5 were better tahn the Polycom

Indeed Polycom sounds very interesting. It looks very good on sound
quality and feature set.
Too bad the chipset is not pa1688 (now open source). :) I like to

You can go with the GXP-2000 from Grandstream. It is shaping up as a
very good phone. It usually retails for around $114 USD but you can
find it a bit cheaper if you really look around.
Two questions: Are the buttons rubbery, and is the display dim? I don't

I know they're not IP phones, but they turn any
phone you want into one without sacrificing the
features of either.

That's just a marketing thing. Just because they are not supported
under Asterisk doesn't mean they don't work under Asterisk. It just
means don't call them (voipsupply or Polycom) if you have problems
getting them to work under Asterisk. Otherwise myself and many others
