The same thing happened to me. The issue was that the HFS+ partition was not cleanly unmounted and had been mounted read-only. When I ran dmesg I saw warnings about that. A simple fsck.hfsplus /dev/sda2 and a remount resolved the issue. -- To post to this group, send email to
