Sorry Mark,
I don#39;t regularly troll CASA websites so it is welcome news to me.
A few years ago I had an issue with a licence for Szeged but used my FAA
licence (later found to be not valid)
So a licence that is useful overseas would be great.

Here in oz we don#39;t need a licence so don#39;t need a medical.
Overseas we need an ICAO licence therefore need the class 2 medical. ( plus
extras like ECG for France)
If you are not flying overseas then you don#39;t need to apply for one or do
the medical. :)
This is all very interesting. The bulletted points one and three seem to me
to be a little at odds with each other. It seems to me that i can apply for
a casa glider licence on the basis that i hold a CASA pilots licence for
aeroplanes. But I cant HAVE a licence unless I have a GFA glider pilots
Thank you

Closest I can come is holding a third class FAA medical certificate.
The third class medical requires no real physical exercise.
An FAA second class medical (for commercial pilot rating) is valid for 12
months, third class (for private rating) 24 months like the biennial flight
review.

Dear all!
Please allow me to pass on some experience gained during the recent WIG week
(Women in Gliding) at Gawler.
The roof of my car was accidently dented by Mrs. Jo Wooler - a fellow glider
pilot from the Caboolture Gliding Club
in QLD. She lifted the right wing of the ASH 25 and by
Hi Bernard,
Not much of a thank you for your coaching assistance was it?
If there were any witnesses I would think that you insurance company would be
best placed to pursue a claim by you.

I do not think it is very good form to use this list to “out” a fellow GFA
member who you are in ‘personal’ conflict with, though it is tempting.
Utilisation of your insurer's power of subrogation is the preferable option.

Certainly a most unfortunate experience and I don't presume to comment on
the incident itself. However I am disappointed you implicate the Caboolture
Gliding Club by association and am certainly surprised to see you of all
people shame someone personally on a national discussion list.
