So I'm using autogen/autoopts in a plugin based architecture, where
each plugin contains it's own plugin_opts.def file. Each plugin is in
it's own subdir... sorta like:
/program_opts.def
/plugins/plugin_opts.def
/plugins/foo/foo_opts.def
