appending LDADD to prog_LDADD

I understand from the docs that specifying prog_LDADD will override LDADD (and the same for prog_CPPFLAGS, ...) http://www.gnu.org/software/automake/manual/html_node/Linking.html If it is desired to merge prog_LDADD and LDADD, is there any recommended or preferred solution? I've tried

Hi all, I was trying to install automake 1.14 on Ubuntu 13.10 which comes with automake 1.13 pre-installed. I appear to be missing this file /usr/share/aclocal/pkg.m4. Is this file auto-generated by the configure-make-install process, or is it to be downloaded from somewhere? Many many thanks in
