The launcher behaviour is supposedly changing to default to appearing when
the mouse hits the left edge of the screen. Therefore under Hernando's case

over the launcher. Might I take this opportunity to spam bug #734946 (
Hello,
I discovered recently natty as a new scrollbar, as exposed by Mark

Here are my issues:

I see this scrollbars as another solution in search of a problem to solve and
in the process introducing more problems than it solves. When will people
realize that this is not the right approach to do things.

Hi!
In my opinion, the new scroll bars have a decisive disadvantage. They are
right on the sides of the desktop not clickable (Fitt's Law:

Here is a mockup of how to solve the problem:

I am totally with you on this one. It looks like the original design was
intended to be a bit different, check out this beautiful mockup:

Hello,
Note that my grand father already forget to read the whole email in
evolution because he does not see the scrollbar. With the new scrollbar
he will for sure never read long emails!
Not only the scrollbar is small, but when that part of the window does
not have the focus, it does not even
+1, this design (being inside the window) looks better.

Hi, I have opened a new brainstorm ticket at:

If this indeed changes, I will not be using unity as my desktop.
With previous desktop environments, my cursor constanly touches the left side
of the screen unintentionally and the appearance of hidden bars (whether

This is my concern as well. Many people including myself use the appearance of
the scroll bar to gain info on page length and size of page content. This helps
me gauge size for print jobs as well as how much content is available for

I think you can turn this behavior off. From the control center, go to
launchers menus, then set it back to the old setting.
That said, I haven't found it a problem personally, and I do spend a lot of
time on the left side of the screen. You have to push to get it to show, so

Workspaces. I do use Spread Mode (super + W) for the workspace I'm in all the

The grid animations look ever so slightly rubbish, for a number of reasons.
One which is more of a “design decision” is this: because of the way snap
animations start to appear when you're sorta-maybe-nearby to the screen
edge, I seem to get a number of abortive animations, usually popping in and
