Hi, thanks for the suggestions. Sorry it took me a few days to respond-
there's not much time for testing between daily backup cycles.
My current theory is that there is some strange corruption in my DB,
perhaps in the File table.
I'm not sure but I think this may be related to another proble

Is it possible to encrypt the data that goes onto tape? We're going to
send our tapes off-site and just to minimize possibility of data leaks
we would like to encrypt the data that goes offsite. Can Bacula do
this?

it is possible to bacula show volume sizes in megabytes or gigabaytes
instead of bytes?
Thanks

Well, I'm glad you found the problem.
I'm upped the default from 180 to 300 in the 1.37 mtx-changer script,
but you might also want to take note that the latest script is a bit less
system dependent:
wait_for_drive() {
i=0
while [ $i -le 300 ]; do # Wait max 300 seconds
if mt -f $1 sta

Use volume once!
Thanks ;)
Personally, I get very low throughput as well. I do have the transfers going
over a lower speed connection from the FD to the DIR/SD, but my throughput
is LOW.

Hello list,
can i somehow force bacula to write (a job/full backup) to a new/next
label?
Or do i always have to wait until a label is out of space?
Thanks, Mario

Well, it doesn't look as though anything there would not be expected to
be up to the task there must be something going on that's not
immediately apparent, but without poking around the system by hand, I
don't have any particular ideas of what might be at fault.

For what it's worth, I'm running it on FreeBSD 5.4 and it's
working fine. I didn't think Bacula wrote directly to the hardware when
you use disk devices...but I could be wrong. I had problems similar to
this with another program, turned out my RAM wasn't fully supported by the
motherboard.

Hi all,
I've been reading the manual on-line, but I'm still having problems
getting my fileset to exclude a directory and all it's sub-files.
Basically, I want to NOT backup all the .thumbnails/ directories
created by gqview. Doing a quick search and count of files, it came
out around 88,000 fil
Hi,
I've been seeing variable performance on a Dell Poweredge 6400 backing
up to a PV132T tape library. If I reboot the server, I can backup the
data (Oracle standby database ~ 300Gb) at a speed of about 20,000,000
Bytes/sec. However, after performing a backup/verify cycle, I find that

Create a "never" schedule and use that for your backups.

Now I have more elements to give.
I configured 3 jobs who need to run concurrently on three different clients.
Their configuration sections are exactly the same

I have tried to use a custom core and the default core, but i get the
