Expected behaviour... well, it's what I got used to. Usually, I'd
expect a new volume to start with status unused or purged, but

Michael,
These are brand new tapes that I just labeled and add to the pool.
Then a few seconds/minutes later, they are marked as purged and I
have no tapes again

Hi.
Image you have a tape with 3 jobs on it.

although I can see it as appendable when I do a list volumes in
bconsole.
Thanks for the help so far

Hi everyone,
I've had to revert to bacula 1.36 from 1.38 and now tape volumes are
autonatically being purged! This only happening t the new tapes I put
in. Any hints as to what might be happening or where I can look?

to look for. My coding skills have eroded over the years. I'm running
this on a RH 8 system and this worked on earlier versions of bacula.
Also, is there anyway to revert to an earlier version of bacula (such
as 1.36)? I know there may be database issues etc.

Except, the same code on another RH9 system only spawns 1 instance
when one does a ./bacula start. I'm certain there is
something wrong on this system, its just that I have no clue on where
to look.
