Are you running ldd against /etc/bacula/bconsole or against
/usr/sbin/bconsole? The former is a shell script, but the latter should
be a compiled binary.

sh -x /etc/bacula/bconsole
may give a clue what is going on.

The problem is likely that I have too many locations mapped to the same
directory and overwrote bconsole with the script so that the script calls
itself.

I did the rebuild
I lost my hard drive and have reinstalled the operating system (Mandrake 10.1)
and am trying to get bacula to work so that I can get my client's files back
from the latest backup tape - all full backups so it should be easy. I have
dowloaded the latest version of bacula today.
