I play two lutes with 146mm bridge spacing without a problem, the historic
lute they were copied from had that spacing. It depends on the playing
technique and digit size. Carpe Diem if your carpe is big enough.

thinking, allow the thumb stretch to pull the finger off the
soundboard. (Barto does) The roll of the wrist also moves the touch point of
the flesh on the finger tips. The biggest concern is the tone of the bass
and treble notes at that stretch. That's what requires work.
