Reviews

Lisa:
Consonance. Filk convention. Lots of great singing, including Fred and Robin
(who just joined the meeting). Great camaraderie. Shared hugs, music, laughter.
Fred: Very good, wonderful. Memorials for Les Barker and Howierd. Really liked
the GOH. Some young people (not enough). If you missed it, you really missed
it.
Robin: Well organized, not very big
Rick: Pre-reg is open for 2024.

Kennita:
Went to see Dungeons & Dragons: The Honor Among Thieves. Lot of fun, not a
complex story. Had elements of the game represented. Michele Rodriguez was
great. Chris Pine (the protagonist) was over the top. Saw matinee IMAX, was
worth it.

Found on YouTube a (cam-record) of a (possibly 2006?) Broadway performance of A
Chorus Line. It was still awesome.

Yochanan:
Watched (Hulu) History of the World Part II. Sketch comedy. 8 episodes (over 4
days). Loves Mel Brooks and the original. Overall Pt 2 not as endearing. It was
OK. Felt a bit like SNL lame sketches. Saw it over several weeks, but might
have worked better as a binge. Some made him laugh. Not great show, but if you
have free time it’s fun to watch.
Ken: Enjoyed it (watched it as released two episodes a day over four days). A
little disjointed, as sketches are broken up across episodes. Liked the Jesus
and Apostles as the Beatles.

Gayle:
Met Live HD Falstaff (Verdi) set in the ‘50s. Funny. Wonderful singing. Encore
performance is Wednesday metopera.org/season/in-cinemas/theater-finder/
<http://metopera.org/season/in-cinemas/theater-finder/>

Rick:
12 Monkey SyFy series. Took the concept of time-travel and ran with it. Yay! Up
to 4th and final season.

Sandra:
Triangle of Sadness comedy about overly wealthy people. almost cruel. goes a
bit lord of the flies on a desert island (and a bit White Lotus). Rented
through AppleTV, but is available from other streamers.

Rumor of the Week:

To all who observe and/or celebrate: Happy Pesach (Passover), Happy Easter,
and Happy Ramadan!
