Reviews
Yochanan
Avenue 5 (Amazon) different comedy. A space liner goes off course. Hugh
Laurie plays The "Captain". Also has Ethan Phillips (from Voyager)
There's two seasons (but doesn't conclude). Rick: Armando Ianucci script
- sharp dialogue and dark humor.
Rick
Constellation (Apple TV+) finished up its first (8 eps) season in a
satisfying if enigmatic way. This is a series with very strong acting,
a very SFnal premise that gradually unfolds involving astronauts, and
something of a psychological horror recurring theme. Worth your time;
not known whether it will be renewed.
Gerald:
NorwesCon. First time in a while. Well organized. Everything seemed to
go well. Hotel elevators were fixed before the con. DaveC/Cargo Cult
sold some of his books. There were some hybrid meetings. If invited
again, would probably go. Galye: a lot of very smart people there
giving interesting talks on space travel and other things. Gearld &
DaveG gave a eulogy for Adrienne Gormley.
JohnO:
Saw Ghost Busters: Frozen Empire. Really enjoyed it (small theatre,
standard). Fun ride, not deep. Some emotional punching at the end. Worth
full price (maybe XD). Yochanan: A little disappointed. Really liked
Afterlife. Lot of fan-service and callbacks (including original
cast-members). Too many plots watering down the story. Some missed
opportunities. Worth matinee. (C+)
Rumor of the Week:
