Reviews

DaveC
Gallifrey in LA. Crowd was lively. Didn’t make as much as 2020, but came close.
Also went to Mels Drive In in Hollywood (they must be having troubles with the
cooks).
DaveG: He and Spring were there. Sales were close to 2020. Girl Scouts had an
Adipose on their table. Everyone seemed to have a good time. Next to DaveC’s
table was Gigi Edgley from Farscape. Worth full price.

Rick
Star Trek: Picard (Thursdays, Paramount+) is back for season 2 and the scripts
/ dialogue is at least good, the supporting character actors are excellent.
With luck, the superb scripts/dialogue from season 1 will be back soon.
(Calling Michael Chabon!)
Yochanan: Watched it too. Very impressed (more than Rick) Thinks this will be
great.

Yochanan
The Batman (2022) Saw Saturday. Very entertaining, nearly 3 hours, very dark
and noir – very detective. Zero flamboyantly colored costumes. Paid matinee,
but worth full price. Favorite thing was that it felt real. Very recommended.
DaveC: Didn’t think so much noir, more nihilism… Very-Very-Very Dark. Batman is
truly an outsider. Shortest Catwoman since Eartha Kitt. One star.

Ohana ComiCon, yesterday in Fremont. More a toy and collectible show. ($7 and
free parking) Missed the costume contest, which was outside. Fun, cheap, cute.

Russian Doll (Netflix) Really cute show. Interesting, quirky. Gal caught in a
Time-loop. Cool vibe. 8 30min episodes. There’ll be a season two.
Rick: Highly recommends. Really great all the way through. Told a complete
story for the first season.
