Committees:
Sports:
Thank you to those who attended the game this past Saturday.
Relocation
One of the restaurants I had been eyeing, Holders on De Anza Blvd, was gutted
by a fire last week. So, one less restaurant with a meeting room in the valley.
New Business:
No new business.
Announcements:
Howeird:
Ordered and received COVID home kits from USPS, and one of the boxed was
crushed – but contents were good. Did some experiments, found he could get a
false negative, but not a false positive.
Craig: USPS brand has a year extension on the expirations. His wife got two
false positives, but may be a medication issue…
Also, a couple passings: Pat Carroll (VO artist, stage & screen) Ursula in
Little Mermaid 80, and Nichelle Nichols, Star Trek’s Uhura.
Gayle: Nichelle had a 4-octave range (sang twice in the series, and one film)
Lisa: Got to spend some real time. Always sweet to the fans. Would alsways sing
when doing stuff on stage. Will be desperately missed. Pat Carroll also was a
wicket stepsister in a live cinderella (with Lesly Ann Warren). She worked for
NASA to help with recruiting. Pic of her at CapCom in Houston. She had so much
love and respect.
Robyn: A lot to comment on. Lucky to meet Nichelle in 89 in Omaha. Once found a
video where she was imitating a variety of singers (including Eartha Kitt).
Gerald: Famous incident of MLK urging her to stay on Star Trek. A remarkable
person.

Reviews
Lisa:
Went to a baseball game Saturday. It was fun, just enough sun and enough
coolness. Decent (not great) food. Company was excellent. Great getting out for
the first time in ages.
Kennita: Impressed with the staff at the venue. Friendly and efficient. One of
the ticket-takers escorted her to the patio. The game play kept going by having
games in the interval. Also helped that someone helped her to her pickup place.
Worth full price. And we won.
Gayle: Fireworks were splendid (should have used ear plugs). Looking forward to
seeing a balk, but it was overturned. John O said there wasn’t any HC parking
available in the lot at the stadium. [Editor's Note: The lot across the street
had some]
Patty: Always tries to get to these. Their friend that came had a blast. Fun
game. The Quakes pitcher was interesting.
Gerald: Very happy to have the sun at his back.
Robyn:
Book. read and enjoyed at the time, and now doing a reread. Rhonda Wray: Raptor
Wrangler by Charon Dunn & Sally Smith (an East Bay Area author). Multi-star
system society and a teen girl – not super girl, messes up, but gets skills –
stranded on a planet where dinosaurs have been recreated. Perfectly delightful.
Full price, recommend.
Rumor of the Week:
