I think Roland wrote bbbd 3.0 with the idea to remove some crufts, enhance the clarity of the code (function's description, etc.) and use more meaningful names. >From my point of view he managed to do it well. (I am glad to see the project with a maintainer). Also, I think that only a few variables were changed. Updating my conf was not much of a big deal <- I am not an emacs old timer, though.
