Are you pricing just drives, or robotics as well? It's not clear from
your request, though all the replies seem to assume it.

Price is not so much an issue as is reliability.I aim for rack mount, but
that isn't so important if a suitable tape drive comes along that

I've used the Dells, IBMs, and HPs, and here is what I've found with them.
* The HP DLT (forgot which version of the DLT) was always broken or
needed cleaning (within a day after cleaning it). If I remember
right, these units usually only lasted about 2 years.
