Our first boy got confined in the kitchen his whole life. I figure for
his own safety.
Meet Memories Break the Bank Penny . an 8 month old Berner baby
that was placed with a perfect couple. Of course they knew all about
Berners as they had loved one for years and years before she
What did you guys have to do to protect your belongings against your dogs
tail?
Put them away or display at least 5 feet above ground level :)
Decorative items need to weigh, oh, maybe about 50 pounds to stay put on
tables :)

Thank you, Rahda, for your comments. My original post was asking for actual
conversations, not the why do breeders ask too many questions.
Original post:
Would someone, anyone, everyone, put into the acutal words ... yeah, like
quotes ... what it is breeders are saying, asking, and/ or implying
Pet shops don't do that -- they stroke people looking at their wares. They
thank us for repelling otherwise good homes directly into their lair
We may have to look at what *we're* doing that causes this behaviour.

Playing devils advocate, just what is so special about a Bernese Mountain
Dog? My sisters Golden provided tons of love and affection. What do Berners
have that Goldens or other breeds don't have?
I have owned a Golden he was a very, very special boo Bear.
What do Berners have that my
A recent post has highlighted some questions about definitively diagnosing
malignant histiocytosis (MH) back to mind ..
Just how *exactly* is a definitive diagnosis of MH made? What testing does
the Fred Hutchinson Center for Cancer deem definitive of MH for sample
submissions?

Thanks for the link to the Booster Tub, Susan! I have been looking for one
of those washer/washing attachments ever since New England Serum stopped
carrying them. Warm baths here in the winter months consist of loading up 4
dirty Berners at a time and hauling them to my vet's on the weekend.
Is there anyone from the south -- TN, KY, GA, AL, SC, etc. -- heading up
to the PV regional?
I have a 6 mo old puppy man that would like to hitch a ride. He promises
to be a good boy and
chip in $$ for gas :)

Okay, I have a question why is it okay for a rescue organization
to
chose not to share this info, but not a breeder?
I didn't say it was ok, I just stated that it's a fact. Personally, I
don't agree with it. I think all known medical and identity information
about the dog should
Is there some reason as a rescue dog that we should not
have access to this information?
Depends on how you define rescue dog. IF your dog came from a rescue
organization, they may or may not have a policy with regard to releasing the
dog's historymuch like an adoption agency.

Sure it varies considerably, but can anyone give me an estimate of when a
male Berner's head fully fills out?
Well, Bob, it does vary considerably. Picture a 13 yo boy and a 30 yo man
... and a 60 yo man. The 30 yo man is filled out, but keeps changing
throughout his lifetime. So a Berner
Oh, you guys are sooo helpful!!
I have found Sharon our internet BMD tracker :)

Wh-Hooo, Maria Buddy! Good job, handler Carol! And a big
