I came home this afternoon and Amy was on the floor crying that special
berner whimper because she could not get up. I have been working with my
vet formonths to help lessen her lower back arthritis pain and loss of
muscle mass in her hips. He is going to give her steroid injections and see

Does anyone know of a study being done at Michigan State on mast cell
cancer? If there is one, does anyone have the name and contact
information of the vet to whom samples are sent? Thanks

My parents have been traveling via trailer-in-tow for the past two
months - Bernerless! Can you believe it! They are in serious need of a
Berner fix. They are in the Wichita, Kansas area right now and will be
staying in Kansas for the next few days. Is there anyone in the Wichita
area
So, perhaps they'll also need a LIVE PLANT fix?? (then again, they can
look at a tree .. heehee)

My parents have been traveling via
Benjamin - I love hearing from vets! Caesar used to be on Rimadyl only once
in a while (one within 1-2 weeks) but the past two weeks, there have been a
few more cries and a few difficulties such as stopping in the middle of a
walk (wanting to come home), crying a bit more, etc. Nothing major,

Well, if they come through Lawrence today or tomorrow, they can visit the

About 2 1/2 - 3 hours from Wichita, but on the way towards Michigan. g
I'll be heading to Chicago with both dogs Thursday, so no lollygagging.

Hi Sheila, Magic and PJ,
My old boy, Magic, who is coming up on 10 yrs old is experiencing very dry
coat, losing hair in small tufts and has developed a dandruff problem.
I would cut back on the shampooing and try adding a chopped clove of garlic
to his food for a natural flea protection.
I *knew* you couldn't resist THAT header.
Too right, Eileen, couldn't resist it!!
Thank you for such a wonderful funny post!
Everyone knows where you go
because you have a little troop after you.
Oh, my! I always have the three dogs and one cat, now the Winter is

Hello,
It definitely sounds like to you need to look for pain management for
Bodhi - but you might want to consider Metacam instead of Rimadyl.
It comes in a liquid form and you can adjust the dosage very easily up
or down and it does not seem to have as many side effects as Rimadyl can
have
Yes indeed that is a Berner butt. We have seen that commercial for a few
weeks now. We taped it so we could watch in slow-motion. So watch
closely...there is nothing like a good Berner butt!!
Gary Penny Turner and Archie (the best Berner butt there is!!!)

Can anyone advise about what training collar should be used with a
berner pup? I have heard traditional training collars are not
appropriate for this breed for two reasons:
1) the sensitivity of theberner and the use of positive reinforcement
only
2) other methods do not work including any
Hi Richard-
As with any medication, you first need to evaluate the dog's problem and then
determine if the pros outweigh the cons for medicating. The description that
you have used in your post regarding Bodhi's health leads me to believe that
you are seeking some kind of pain relief for
