I review apps and if they are OK, scan them into bes, and set them as optional. By default all apps are disallow. If an app doesn't have an offline installer...too bad. So far a few companies are helpful in providing offline install files. The security of our information takes precedence.

In BES 4.1 I turn compression on for the log folder. The logs are just .txt files so they compress very well. Every few months I'll delete old logs and run disk cleanup. Both could be scripted but I've never found it needed. Our logs aren't that big, I think 200mb uncompressed for ~350 heavy
