The icons currently used for the Gtk IDE Term and Edit windows are:
~system/util/term.png
~system/util/edit.png or ~system/util/edit.svg
I'm wondering whether it would be better to just use the green J icon?
I do think something needs to be done to make it more obvious that the

on those term.png and edit.png, for the best of both worlds.

I can second that.
I have used J GTK part as my sole editing environment for many months now.
Recently I have started to do more things with the JHS part and it is
brilliant too.
There are of course some things I do miss from J6 but I am sure replacements
for what I miss will be or is already
Now that there is such an excellent interface to J in a browser it is
interesting to know if there is anyone who has made an e-mail gui in J that
can be used to communicate with the Forum?
Or at least to read the Forum.
It would be interesting to be able to connect through J with the wiki
I have a script that is quite large.
I wanted to know line numbers and could not see how to do that in GTK.
I opened it in JHS and it works fine there.
By the way I saw in the JHS help now that it is possible to hide the command
prompt window.
Nice touch!
It can be risky to hide the cmd window
term and edit png added, any chance of also getting edit.svg?

There will be a 'toggle line numbers' right below 'toggle ascii box
drawing' if gtksourceview is working. I guess you did not get syntax
coloring or undo/redo either.

Does the latest version of the installer produce a system that correctly

Ric,
I think I understand problem with menu vs middle button.
First I would like to confirm the problem. My observations are:
1. happens on all page links (jijx, jijs,...)
2. happens on all buttons (left, middle, right)
3. depends on how fast you click and release
4. happens with Chrome,FF
5,
I believe the latest installer handles profilex.ijs as intended (same as it
was in 602). Please let me know of any problems.

Yes if there were a programmatic email client app made one could add a
mode for squirting through formatted etc arbitrary text- as it could
handle both coding and decoding.

Here are my observations - they don't appear to match up with yours.
I've now tested on:
* 32-bit Win7 Firefox 4.0 beta9
* 64-bit Ubuntu 10.04 Firefox 3.6.13
* 64-bit Ubuntu Chromium 8.0.552.224
I've only had issues with Firefox on Ubuntu.
It only affects links (menus or links on page)
BTW, I've tried disabling all my addons to see if that made any
difference - it didn't.

Is the only problem with FF on Ubuntu 64?
Strange that it is only with jijx. Is there anything special about the test
with jijx? Always the 1st tab, the only tab,...?
My earlier observations were flawed and should be ignored. The only problem
I can see is the slight and understood one with
Yes it only seems to be with FF on Ubuntu 64 (haven't tried Ubuntu
32). I have since tried with the FF 4.0 beta - same problem.
It doesn't seem to matter whether it is the first jijx tab or whether
it is a 2nd one or created by a middle-click link from one of the
other pages.

Hi David,
These look nice at large sizes, but for small icons in the Title bar

For the Edit window some sort of combination green J and pen may be

How about make the J bigger and the term smaller?

Chris updated the wiki to allow .svg uploads.
You should be able to view them by using the 'get' option, at least with
Firefox.

My preference would still be for the straight green J for the Term
(simple and clean and analogous to the other J sessions, just
differentiated by colour). If we go for a combined icon for the Edit
window then I agree that the J should be bigger relative to the pen.
Alternatively the simple J
