Could somebody could point me to install instructions (Linux) for 701.
The simple 3 lines that appear after the basic install appear sufficient
for me to run jconsole but leave much to the imagination regarding jhs
and jgtk.
Possibly I just need to be patient until the wiki is updated.

Sounds like the install worked. The install would have printed instructions
that said that command ~j701/bin/jhs would start jhs.
Running that command starts jhs and the resulting display tells you that it
is a server and how to access it from your browser.
Summary:
1. $ ~j701/bin/jhs
2. start
~/j701/bin/jhs ... yes, that appeared to do something.
david@david-desktop:~$ ~/j701/bin/jhs
|EADDRINUSE: sdcheck_jsocket_
| sdcheck_jsocket_ r
but then ... Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to 117.0.0.1:65001
similar response from Firefox.
