Hi All,
I had a bind crash this weekend.
I don't recall seeing this particular error posted before, so I figured I would
mention it in case anyone has some feedback about it.
This is bind 9.5.1b1 on Solaris9 (sparc):
named[22130]: [ID 873579 daemon.crit] RUNTIME_CHECK(((
Is your firewall set to arp for different MAC addresses?
If so, was that updated to reflect the changes you are trying to make?
I did Checkpoint in a former life, and I can remember defining static arp
entries for some of the NAT setup we had.
Is is all I can think of or remember.

Hi Serdar,
Instead of rndc reload can you try rndc reconfig?
This may work in this environment and should be faster.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
Hello,

70 clients per query seems pretty high to me.
I think slow, and bogus, lookups can contribute to this.
In our environment, we use:
clients-per-query 10 ;
max-clients-per-query 20 ;
I would also check that the
Hello,
What does ulimit -a say for the shell and user that named process is running

I am not sure if this is the culprit, but may be something to check.
Note that SUN has Solaris8 on the chopping block:

Interesting.
Does the zone inherit the global at all or does it override?
Okay, so I look at the Bv9ARM and see:

Hello,
Below, there is a statement:
If it's occasional, that may be a known bug in 9.5 about
cache entry management, and will be fixed in the next beta
I am testing 9.5.1b2.
Is 9.5.1b2 affected by this known bug?
If so, do we have any details on this bug as well as any ETA on the will be
fixed
Hello,
1. What version of BIND are you running? We recompiled 9.5.0-P2 with 4096 file
descriptors and we no longer saw errors on our Solaris machines. Regardless,
9.5.1b2 has been the best weapon of the 9.5.x train so far (in QPS and server
efficiency). Obviously, this is a beta version and
