abandoned its recent gentle moderation and has asserted itself with a vigour
that many consider over zealous. As a result, Presqu'ile Bay is rapidly
icing over and last week's bonanza of 'spring' Aythya ducks has largely
Dean DiTommaso had the adult CALIFORNIA GULL below the control gates at
Niagara Falls today. This is the one with obvious red on the bill, a
different bird than the one at the power plants. The latter bird was seen
Sunday but when Dean was there today there were very few gulls (around
11:00).
While my wife and I were unable to relocate the Snow
Goose found by Blake Mann on Sunday, we did find an
adult GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE around 11:00 this
morning. The bird was on the ice at the end of Exmouth
street, and slipped a few times as it wandered about.
Sarnia Bay itself is almost
2 Dunlin were still in the warm water creek flowing out of Lake Erie Steel,
a division of Stelco today. The birds were up the creek a little ways and
were viewed from Lakeshore Rd. along the stream bank. 3 were here on the
Woodhouse CBC and the other may not be far away alone with a possible
