Sorry for the extra post. The hybrid that Jim Pawlicki found across from
the old fort in Fort Erie, Ontario was a Common Goldeneye X Hooded
Merganser, not a Barrow's X Common Goldeneye as the title suggested.

HORNED LARKS and at
least 50 LAPLAND LONGSPURS. These birds were on the north side of
Youngstown-Wilson Road at Fitch Road in the Town of Wilson, Niagara County,
NY. A couple thousand gulls (mainly Ring-billed) were in this and nearby
fields.

area. We also had a few slightly darker-mantled Herring-type gulls.

Early in the morning, a SNOWY OWL (immature male?) was perched on the
northeastern-most structure on the grounds of Old Fort Niagara which is at
the mouth of the river on the NY side.

The Western Grebe was visible from Fifty Point C.A. and the foot of Kelson
Road. Apparently, it was seen most of the day. We also had a Northern
Shrike on Kelson.
